My Knitting Library
My son Jack is a Pokemon-aholic. For his birthday this year I
secretly knit him this pillow. He loved
it from the moment he received it.
I knit a red background and duplicate stitched the Pikachu rather than
actually knitting it as part of the pattern. I wanted to make
sure that it would hold up to child's play.
Because it was made for a child, I decided to use inexpensive cotton yarn that I purchased from Pat Catans.
The red background, black outlines, and yellow "Pokemon" word are Lily
Sugar 'n Cream 100% cotton yarn. The Pikachu was stitched
from Reynolds Frisky 60% cotton, 40% nylon yarn (from a specialty yarn
store) to give him a more furry look without overdoing it (fun fur
would have been too much fur).
