My Knitting Library
My Mother purchased the green-toned nubby yarn for my 40th
birthday. She purchased one skein of this super yummy yarn from The Wool and Company
in Geneva, Illinois. At $18.00 per skein, I don't blame her for
only purchasing one skein. It was only 54 yards, consisting of 60%
viscose and 40% polyester.
I knew that 54 yards wasn't going to go far, so I went shopping (oh
darn) at one of my favorite shops, the only yarn shop in Glen Arbor,
Michigan. :) I found some complementary yarn at The Yarn Shop
to make this little purse for myself. The yarn I chose was:
1 skein of ICE royal blue mohair and 1 skein of S R Kertzer Sari 100%
nylon ribbon yarn in blue shades.
The purse was knit with circular needles using a mosaic slip stitch
basket weave pattern. It turned out to be a very artsy looking purse due to
the nubby yarn. It was lined with 100% silk fabric in greens and
blues and has four interior pockets. The purse was finished
with a heavy duty snap closure and a coordinating loosely twisted cord
strap.
